Victoria Coast guard just announced a gale warning in effect. When we’re out here, there’s a lot of calculated risk. We spent a good amount of time last night (and today while underway) calculating crossing the strait of Juan de fuca.

Our timing hopefully will put us in the San Juans just before the wind really picks up for the rest of the week. I’ve increased our engine speed to give us a little bit more of a buffer. We’re going eight knots approaching Port Townsend and will be entering the straight probably in about 40 minutes to an hour.

Let’s hope it’s not too crazy out there!!
